THE PATH THROUGH THE CHESTNUT GROVE

WHY TAKE THIS ROUTE?

The Chestnut Grove Trail is a path that celebrates the Marrone del Mugello tradition.

CURIOSITY

Inaugurated in 2016, the Chestnut Grove Trail winds through ancient forests and breathtaking landscapes, offering an immersive experience in the biodiversity of the Apennines. This 3 km trail features more than 80 informational panels about the local flora and fauna, with a special focus on the chestnut tree and its ecosystem.

Created in collaboration with the Chestnut Study and Documentation Center and the Casetta Riding School, the trail is a perfect example of how a community can preserve and promote its natural heritage. Along the way, you’ll admire monumental chestnut trees—some centuries old—that speak to the deep bond between people and the land.

The path is suitable for everyone, with limited elevation gain and clear signage that allows for a fully self-guided experience. A true sensory journey, where the scent of chestnuts, the sound of the trees, and the sweeping views will accompany your every step.
